Understanding Bookings
How a booking reaches you, what each status means, and how money is settled.
How Bookings Work
When a player books a court through the BookMyCourt app:
- They pick your facility and a court
- They choose a date and the time slots they want
- If your facility allows it, they can add a coach to the session
- They confirm the booking at checkout
- The booking appears in your Bookings screen straight away
The app's only payment method today is Pay at venue — cash or card when the player arrives. A new booking is a confirmed reservation, not money already received. You collect on the day, and the platform settles your share monthly. See Settlements Overview.
Booking Statuses
A booking moves through these states. Status is shown as a coloured badge everywhere a booking appears.
| Status | What it means | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| Upcoming | Booked and confirmed. The session hasn't started. | Set when the booking is made |
| Checked in | The player has arrived and you've checked them in. | You, from the booking |
| Completed | The session finished. | You, from the booking |
| Cancelled | The booking was cancelled and the slot is free again. | You, from the booking |
| No-show | The player never arrived. | Applied by the platform |
A booking is confirmed the moment it is made — Upcoming is the confirmed state. Payment is tracked separately from booking status, below.
Payment Status
Payment is a separate axis from booking status. A booking can be Upcoming and unpaid at the same time — that is the normal case for pay-at-venue.

|---|---|
| Processing | The payment is being confirmed |
| Success | Paid in full |
| Failed | The payment did not go through |
On a booking you'll see either Paid in full or Payment due at venue.
Where To See Bookings
The Bookings screen has two views, and the toggle between them sits in the toolbar at the top:
- Calendar — courts against time, so you can see the day at a glance. See The Bookings Calendar.
- List — a searchable, filterable table. See Managing Bookings.
On desktop both are reached from Bookings in the left sidebar. On mobile use the Bookings tab in the bottom dock.
What A Booking Shows
Open any booking to see:
- Player name, with buttons to call or email them
- Facility and Court · Sport
- Date and Time
- Payment breakdown — court amount, any add-ons, tax, convenience fee, and the total
- Whether it is paid in full or due at the venue
- The current status badge
